If you’d have said to me when this show was first set up in 2011 that it’d still be going strong in 10 years time I’d have laughed at you. However here we are in 2021 with a decades worth of rock n ramblings under our belts. Frustratingly, it’s a milestone that can’t (due to current circumstances) be celebrated in the fashion that I’d have liked. That doesn’t mean that it’s one that’s not going to be acknowledged though. Hopefully when the world gets back to some form of normality again we can bring you a reunion show with former co-hosts and guest presenters, and celebrate in proper Let There Be Rock fashion with chaos and cakes! Until then it's just me pondering over how best to mark the occasion.

Let There Be Rock has evolved over the years into more than just a radio show that celebrated the best in classic, new and unsigned rock music from across the globe. In that time we’ve had many special guests, reviewed gigs and festivals, seen lesser known artists become household names, gained new listeners, established a network of industry contacts, made so many new friends, and even switched radio stations. There have certainly been tough times too, keeping the show running has always been based on available time, commitment and finance, and there have been a number of occasions where it has been a struggle. But we’ve always found a way to make it work.

It is and always has been my escape from the real world, an obsessive hobby if you will, if something allows you express what you are passionate about, then it’s not a waste of time, and that goes for anything. Life is far too short not to do what you enjoy.

I’d like to thank each and everyone one of you who have supported and listened to the show over the years, including former radio colleagues and guest presenters, namely Simon, Emma, Gary, Mike, James and Jamie. To the bands and artists who have provided us with a plethora of amazing music, the hard working PR and record label representatives who have kept us up to date with the very latest in the world of rock, and last but by no means least to 96.7 Phoenix FM and our new home Metal Meyhem Radio for giving us a platform to broadcast on… Without Jay at Metal Meyhem this show wouldn’t have hit the 10 year mark… so you can blame him! ;-)

Here’s to the next 10 years…?
